About me

Welcome to my user page. I'm a Wikipedia user from the Netherlands. I moved over here from the Dutch Wikipedia because I believe we (the Wikimedia communities) should have one central repository for free images. I try to improve Commons by adding more free images. I either move images from other Wikipedia's to here or do batch uploads. I am responsible for over 4 million uploads.

This evolved into me being involved in several GLAM projects. I attended, helped organise and gave presentations at several GLAMcamps, hackathons, Wikimania's and museum/heritage conferences. I'm one of the organisers of Wiki Loves Monuments 2012 (also in 2010 and 2011).

Making Commons more accessible is another thing I like to work on. For example by getting images categorized, by making templates available in a lot of languages or by adding links to Commons at Wikipedia. I operate a couple of bots to help me and others here at Commons. I hate it when images within the scope of Commons get deleted, but I delete copyright violations on sight.
